Clarity and confidence in English — taught one student at a time.
I'm Sadhbh Wooldridge White, an English teacher offering online grinds to
secondary students across Ireland. Structured, exam-focused sessions over Zoom —
no travel, no wasted evenings, just steady progress.
As a third-year Bachelor of Religious Education and English student at DCU, holding
First Class Honours and three years of school-based teaching experience, I bring real
classroom insight into every session. I believe English is the most valuable subject
on the timetable — it teaches you to read critically, think clearly and write with
conviction.
Most students I meet aren't struggling because they can't write. They're struggling
because nobody has shown them what the examiner is actually looking for. So we start
there: what the question is asking, how marks are awarded, and how to build an answer
that earns them. From there it's practice, feedback and a bit of confidence.

something finally makes sense.”

How online grinds work
Everything happens at the kitchen table
Online grinds mean no driving across town on a Tuesday evening. All your student needs
is a laptop, a quiet corner and a copybook.
Get in touch
Send a short message with your student's year, level and what they're finding difficult. I'll reply within 24 hours with available slots.
Join on Zoom
You'll get one recurring Zoom link — the same one every week. No app to learn, no logins to remember. Just click and you're in.
Work on a shared whiteboard
We annotate texts, plan essays and mark up sample answers together on screen. Everything we write is saved and sent on afterwards.
Practise between sessions
Each grind ends with a discussion of topics covered and a clear plan on how to move forward.
Sessions are not recorded by default. If you'd like a recording for revision, just ask —
I'm happy to arrange it with the student's and parent's consent.
Why choose me
Small, deliberate teaching
I keep my books small on purpose. It means I know every student's writing well enough
to spot what's holding them back.
Genuinely personalised
No two students get the same plan. I tailor the topics we cover to the needs of the individual student, including students with dyslexia and other learning differences. Every session is adapted to how that student actually learns — clear structures, targeted support and no generic worksheets.
Real classroom experience
I have worked in the classroom and seen its shortcomings first-hand. We work from what earns marks, not what sounds impressive.
Flexible scheduling
Because there's no travel, slots can sit anywhere in the evening or at weekends — and a missed week can usually be moved rather than lost.
Progress you can see
You get written feedback after every piece of work, and a short update to parents each term, so you know exactly where things stand before results day.
What parents say
Kind words
“
Our daughter went into fifth year dreading Paper 2 and came out of the mocks with her
best English result yet. The difference was knowing what the examiner wanted.

I was sceptical about grinds over Zoom, but honestly it works better. No driving,
no sitting in a car park, and he's far more relaxed working from his own room.

I used to panic during English exams. Sadhbh gave me a structure that actually works.
I went into each exam more confident, with an understanding of what the examiner wants.
